Mission

Our mission is to provide Chef-curated nutritious meals, at no cost to individuals experiencing hunger and food insecurity within our community. We believe that everyone, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, or economic circumstances, deserves to have reliable and consistent food sources. We are committed to doing everything we can to fill the gaps in our food system and prioritize serving those marginalized communities that are most in need.

Food insecurity has been our main focal point. For most of our staff, food insecurity is something we have personally experienced. With our combined experience in the restaurant industry totaling decades, we have witnessed both the gaps in availability of food and the systemic waste accompanied with it. We aim to solve both of those issues with the help of our community partners. Our goal is to provide a meal to any hungry person who needs one, and to facilitate a variety of methods to make food more accessible to those in need.

While our patrons are mostly houseless people, we have witnessed that food insecurity is an issue that affects all kinds of people with many different cultural intersectionalities and backgrounds. We believe meeting basic needs, such as food security, has the ability to empower communities to work toward a better world and future for us all. When our basic needs are met and we aren't bound by the concerns of survival, we are free to create and imagine.

Revolutionary programs such as the Black Panther Party's Free Breakfast for Children program have proven that people perform much better when this constraint is lifted. The ripple effect of removing the restraints placed on a person experiencing food insecurity is huge, and we hope to facilitate that.
